Super Turbo Dodge Ultra

Super Turbo Dodge Ultra is a 3D lane-based infinite runner which emphasizes the sensation of speed. Players are engaged in feeling like they are traveling at ludicrous speeds. Time is slowed at key points to help make the game more approachable, without sacrificing this sensation of speed.

The project was developed over the course of three weeks as a solo student project, while attending DigiPen Institute of Technology. Everything was developed by me, either inside Unity or utilizing external tools, such as Maya. Sounds were initially gathered from a DigiPen-owned library, before being modified significantly. Aside from Xinput, no external assets or plugins were used.

  • Worked to develop a game from a simple concept to a complete experience without adding huge amounts of content.

  • Incorporated as many elements as possible that would engage players through sensation (time dilation, visual/audio effects, etc.)

  • Refined underlying gameplay to ensure an optimal end user experience, refining the effects time-dilation had on player input and creating a sense of progression in terms of the difficulty.
